Promoting Fitness, Wellness and Happiness

Who am I?

Hi I'm Caroline Coker. I have been teaching various activities and subjects for over 25 years; originally as a primary school PE specialist teacher, which I absolutely loved; but as with most careers it's nice to branch out and try new things new.  So I became a nanny and retrained as a Pilates Teacher.

Due to my own health, injuries and mishaps, I was introduced to Pilates and I never looked back. Thus, I retrained as a Pilates Teacher and was lucky to get a job in a retirement village running the gym and exercise classes.  Whilst there I passed, with distinction, my personal training apprenticeship - you are never too old to learn, just saying!

During my years there I also became a carer and got my care certificate.  Between these two roles I learned a lot about older adults, their needs, their hopes, their concerns, and this is a very important part of CCCoaching - to help older adults get moving. With Age UK Oxford, I became an Otago trainer, which is an international Fall Prevention Programme.

Since starting CCCoaching in March 2024 I have been very lucky to collaborate with BOPAG - Bucks Older Peoples Action Group, Age UK Bucks, AITC - Active In The Community and CarersBucks, just to name a few which has been amazing and has allowed me to support older adults and offer my services – Promoting Fitness, Wellness and Happiness.

I have local classes, and I am mobile to come to your home and groups, I offer a range of levels and classes to meet your needs. Seated fitness, seated Pilates, mat Pilates, regular fitness classes with/without equipment, Otago Fall Prevention sessions; and I also have a home studio where I can accommodate small personalised groups or 1-1 personal training.  I like to specialise in strength training using the TRX suspension strap - it's not as scary as it sounds! You may have heard that you need to build your strength as we get older, you may have heard of sarcopenia - which is the natural process of muscle wastage with age, and with every decade we age, we can lose 5 to 10% muscle mass and this can cause a lot of the issues older adults face.

I have personal experience with bad back, due to kyphosis and posture, and due to the stresses of life I did, unfortunately, have further complications. All of these have been fixed and managed with Pilates and specific training. Thus I am very passionate about what I do. I truly believe in what I do and the results it can give to everybody.  It's time for you, because commitment is a gift you should give yourself.

Promoting Fitness, Wellness and Happiness the whole holistic approach for a more active, stronger, confident you.

Moving for Life: My First Year of CCCoaching

When I launched CCCoaching a year ago, I had no idea how uplifting the journey would be. Over the past twelve months I’ve met amazing people, partnered with brilliant organisations, and watched older adults discover new strength, confidence and joy through movement. I’m so grateful to everyone who has welcomed me into their communities.

Working with older adults has shown me how unique every person is, which is why I focus on the whole individual — not just the exercise. I’ve seen movement transform daily life: pain eases, joints loosen, bones strengthen, balance improves and the brain wakes up. And the best part? Mood lifts. Even a little movement can make a big difference. With experience as a carer, Pilates teacher, Otago instructor, Tai Chi–trained practitioner and Personal Trainer, I’m proud to be a CIMSPAregistered sole trader helping older adults move with more ease and joy.

Every group or client follows a personalised programme based on their goals — strength, balance, coordination, resilience or simply feeling more confident at home. We work in blocks so progress is easy to see, and the little wins always make my day: “I can get out of my chair more easily.” “I don’t struggle with my shoes anymore.” “I feel taller and steadier.”

I add fun weekly games and cognitive challenges to keep minds sharp and bodies moving — great for coordination and especially supportive for clients with Parkinson’s. And because wellbeing is more than fitness, every class ends with a cuppa, a biscuit and a good chat — a lovely moment to laugh, connect and support each other.

This year I’ve teamed up with fantastic organisations including Active in the Community, Elizabeth House, Headway, local care homes, U3A, NFTS, Social Link, Carers Bucks and Age UK. Supporting so many wonderful people has been a real highlight.

Alongside community work, I run weekly sessions in Downley, Lane End and Bourne End, plus personal training in clients’ homes or my home studio. As I head into year two, if you know someone who could benefit—colleagues, friends, family, or a community group, call me. Together, we can keep moving, learning, laughing and feeling great
